Join Me for Virtual Yoga and Self Massage!

In June I enrolled into a 300 hour yoga teacher training program

It’s a perfect compliment to your yoga practice, and I am enjoying the program immensely! Each week we have engaging conversations related to embodying yoga poses, providing a "safe and welcoming" space for those that are from the BIPOC community and somatic therapies to support students. Each week we dive into the historical foundation of yoga and how to weave into our modern "busy" world.

I took my first yoga class at Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics and Massage Therapy in 2007 located in Medford, Massachusetts. At the time I was active in the gym and in physically great shape, but nothing prepared me for the 1 hour yoga class at school! The weekly class was taught by the school Director, Mrs. Toole. She taught yoga at a local studio while providing leadership to the school. She was very serious about her yoga practice and would often share stories with us during class if she seen us become frustrated with our bodies while in movement. I remember feeling this euphoric sense of freedom in my body and that night I slept throughout the night. My body felt "rested" and refreshed. I enjoy the challenge and the relief that comes with stretching, but yoga helps me to slow things down a bit and self reflect. Restorative yoga has helped transform my body, mind and regulate my breathing. Most recently I have been incorporating my yoga practice in my massage therapy sessions with Clients. When the pandemic shut the world down in 2020, I started experiencing lower back and hip pain. This prompted me to research mobility exercises and yoga and connective tissue. I am halfway through my yoga teacher training, and I intend on continuing my education aboard in India in the near future. My Great-grandfather was born and raised in India so this is a full circle moment for me here!

I hope to see you at one of my weekly virtual yoga classes on Zoom. The classes will be conveniently accessible and affordable to those that seek a alternative yoga practice that integrates self massage and acupressure to expand and lengthen muscles. Classes are held on Tuesdays at 8 pm to 8:45 pm and Wednesdays at 1 pm to 1:45 pm starting on September 10th, 2024.

Restorative yoga will help increase mobility, flexibility, physical dexterity, and strength all while remaining focused on the mind/body connection. Classes are open to all levels.
